At the moment we run free courses in tailoring and sewing, and we plan to start two more - embroidery and textile block printing. The courses last from 3 months up to one year depending on the level of desired skill and learning capacity of the trainee. The course methodology is a combination of group work on theory and hands-on exercises, but individual work that follows individual’s pace and needs. This is very important since we have trainees with very diverse educational and skill backgrounds. A special focus of the courses is on progressing to a high quality standard of work. The aim of the course is to enable the ladies to gain solid skills in the first six months so that they can start making a living and therefore become financially active members of the community. This is a crucial step towards bringing the ladies to a desired stage of becoming equal decision-makers in their family and local community.
